讲座内容简介:Talk title: Understanding and Preparing to Use the Two Competing College Admission Platforms: Common Application vs. Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success

Started by the Ivy schools in 2015, the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success (CAAS) was introduced as a competing college application platform of Common Application. The Coalition aims to recast the college admission process from a potentially stressful, single-year transaction to a more progressive and developmental, four-year collection of high school experiences and accomplishments. It is often claimed that CAAS will gain so much support among elite universities that future twelfth graders may have to use CAAS to position themselves competitively in the application processes.  This workshop addresses the following important topics to help students adapt to these changes:

. What does a strong Common Application essay look like and how can high school students build strong profiles that position them to write strong essays?

. What impacts does CAAS have on college application?

. How can 9th graders and above effectively position themselves for success in this game-changing platform?
