About the Speaker: 

Dr. Yuan Liu is an Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science at North Carolina State University. He is also an affiliated faculty in Physics. He received his B.S. in physics from Tsinghua University in Beijing. He received his M.S. in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in chemical physics from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to joining NC State faculty as an NSF Quantum Computing & Information Science Faculty Fellow, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Research Laboratory of Electronics and Department of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. His research interests lie at the intersection of quantum information science, theoretical chemistry and physics, and quantum engineering.

刘教授现任北卡罗来纳州立大学,电气与计算机工程以及计算机科学的助理教授,同时兼任物理系的附属教授。他在北京清华大学获得物理学学士学位,后在布朗大学获得电气工程硕士和化学物理博士学位。在加入北卡罗来纳州立大学担任NSF量子计算与信息科学研究员之前,他曾在波士顿麻省理工学院的电子研究实验室和物理系担任博士后研究员。他的研究兴趣主要在量子信息科学、理论化学与物理以及量子工程的交叉领域。
